Tolkien illustrated both Beleg and Gwindor, and thus we can see the long hair.
Okay, it's an early-ish painting, but still. Although I'm guessing, in any case, that some will say these characters were in the wild in the scene depicted, and JRRT maybe took that into account. So erm, there's that ![]() |
