Hmm. This is hard to answer without extensive experimental testing, but my working hypothesis would be that taking it off would be equivalent to taking it out of the fridge; the rest is entropy.

Nah, the artwork is fine. What I've missed for most of Vol. 4 up to now was a plot (or I've been too daft to see it) - but it looks like that's emerging now.
