Oh how easy it would be to choose to be numbered among the Vanyar and live countless years in peaceful bliss at the feet of the Valar. But that is not the life for me, for I love the Noldor. I would want to feel that unquenchable thirst for knowledge and desire for greatness. Yes I agree, for what is life if you do not see both ends of the spectrum, happiness and grief, hardship and easy living.
