Over the course of LOTR, as well as other books, there has always been an air of mystery over the Nine. Though Tolkien must have valued the darkness and mystery of these characters, it seems as if he left their story unfinished. This thread is for anything (theory or fact) regarding the Ringwraiths, Nazgul, Angmar, Minas Morgul, Morgul Blades, Fel Beasts, the Nine, or anything else regarding Sauron's leutinant.

Their names are not given. What Tolkien has left are very few clues. Three were said to have been Black Numenoreans, one was said to have been called Khamul the Black Easterling(this is from Unfinished Tales, so it doesnt count) and another was thought to have been called Gothmog (but this is a maybe). There is no way round this one, LotR tells it like it is, they could have been anyone (the right anyone that is).

To paraphrase Spartacus, "I am a Nazgul!"
