Sting Tom Bombadil - Maiar ?

it seems tha at one point i did some research into this and as i recall he had his orgins i belive as a Maiar spirt perhaps if im not mistaken related in some way to Ents ? although i have to admit i'm entirely unsure of this .... does anyone know any thing about this subject ?

I think what my impatient and somewhat impolite friends mean is that Tom has been a frequent topic of conversation here. If you go back a couple of pages into our archives (the red line of numbers on the top right once you enter a forum) you'll find at least two recent debates on Tom. You may wish to add your opinion there rather than opening a new thread.
