Actually, they are. But since Elros' line down to Aragorn is so long, it is not the same as first cousins marrying.

The son of Eol is Maeglin and some of his definig qualities are: he was a strong warrior, a brilliant smith, a scholar, Turgon's heir, and he loved his first cousin Idril.
