I think that Feanor, in his heart, was good, but he was corrupted by his wish to keep the Silmarils for himself. He was led astray from his path by that annoying little thing we humans know so fondly as desire.
(Sorry, haven't read enough of 'The Silmarillion' to know much else, but hey, I wanna move up as well ASAP and I've got a looooooooong way to go [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img])
