The 1970 Houghton Mifflin and the 1974 and 1979 Ballantines all agree with your Ballantines and their more abbreviated Appendix B. Very mysterious.
btw burrahobit, in all the Thorongil excitement I never answered that Marach led the third host of men into Beleriand.
