Ignoring the fact that Heni came very close, i think i may have found a connection:
Hurin called Thalion the steadfast, the strong, son of Galdor, husband of Moewen and father of Turin and Nienor; lord of Dor-lomin, vassel of Fingon- Fingon, the eldest son of Fingolfin- Fingolfin, half brother of Feanor. i'm not exactly sure how this game works, but if you don't beieve me, look in the index of The silmarillion, pages 396 and 404.

Their children were married?
Sorry, I'm new to this, not sure if that counts as something in common or not.

OK, I'll go for the obvious. Finarfin's daughter was Arwen's grandmother (making Finarfin Arwen's great grandfather, I suppose).

Ok...I`m taking a guess.
Finarfin stayed in Valinor when his half-brother Fëanor led the host of Noldor back to Middle-Earth, and became King for those Noldor who remained also with Finarfin. Arwen stayed in Middle Earth instead of taking the ships to Valinor, and became Queen of the Reunited Kingdom.

The person who came the closest was NightKnight, with that "brothers" guess. Hold onto that thought, and look at my last hint.

They both died fighting a Balrog, so that their companions could escape to safety, and then were "sent back" to help fight against Sauron.

Wow, that one was better than mine. My connection was that both of them threw down a balrog from a mountain, but you can continue.

Okay, no-one seems to have attempted this, so I'll take a guess. Both were separated from their husbands when they (the husbands) went away over the Sea?
Ah no, wait, Fingolfin went over mountains ... sooo ... when their husbands went to Middle-earth?

Nope. I'll repeat it, it has to do with their daughters themselves, marriage involves another person.
