My sister and I, back in 2001, talked my dad into letting a stray cat inside in winter to keep it from freezing to death. She more or less adopted us, and in April had a litter of kittens under my dad's bed. She left a few months later, and my dad got rid of the male cats. That's how we have Fluffy and Kimberly.
