Why does Gollum look like Tor Johnson with Yoda's ears?

Gandalf looks more like a goblin than a goblin does.

He gave Eowyn some nice...ummm...attributes.

Rather funny how he gave Conan-like muscles to the orcs.

And I do believe that he thought of Eowyn's armour as "femail."

At least he's consistent. Back when I was younger, I had a 4 volume illustrated set of Jack Vance's Tschai series; I think this guy did one or more volumes of that The figures certainly look vaugely familiar (there is something very Chasch-like about his orcs and, with a few extra clothes, Zap210 could be Eowyn's body double).

Ha, the Witch-king must have scared the pants off of Éowyn!

Par for the course for Frazetta, who was a fan of bare bottoms on his male and female figures both. I'm surprised there isn't one of a muscular Aragorn in a breechclout and winged helm atop a pile of dead and dying orcs.

I'm a fan -- not many fantasy artists can match Frazetta for dynamic scenes and the evocation of a certain (admittedly narrow) kind of tone. His imagery all but visually defined sword-and-sorcery/sword-and-planet fiction. But he was a specialist. In some alternate reality, Frazetta ran a legendary custom van-painting shop in Venice Beach.
