Finwe, you scare me. Teleri, you scare me too. If my parents caught me reading LOTR again I think they'd lynch me. Or ground me. They're miffed enough as it is about UT and Sil...(but I blame my dad- he introduced me to the Hobbit and LOTR. And my Uncle lent me the Silmarillion, UT, Lost Tales and HOME).
I've read the Hobbit twice I think and LOTR all the way through 5 times. I read the Hobbit and LOTR in year 6 (so I was 10-11 years old I think, and I'm 15 now), but when I went back and read the Hobbit, I found the constant naming of the orcs as goblins just irritated me, so I haven't tried again since. I've read the Appendices through twice I think. Then of course I've read bits I want to from LOTR a few times more...
I've read the Silmarillion twice (I now have my own copy , and UT at least once (ditto). I can't remember if I got through it again. But I've read Narn i hķn Hśrin at least 3 times because that is just the most heartbreaking story I've ever read. I can't say I found ROTK that sad, but books rarely get much emotion from me. Narn i hķn Hśrin would be one of the exceptions.
