No not the Shire - if you misses my answer to Pitch it is smaller than a country and no Elves. She Shire is a country IMO and I would have hesitated to say now Elves because of WoodyEnd - a permanent temporary Elf residence!

Which is why I deleted The Shire? and posted a new question a few minutes before your answer...we seem to have cross posted though, so I'll ask my question again.

Did hobbits live there?

Thinking of a more specific place, like Hobbiton or Bree and not the general Shire/Countryside.....
