He planted himself squarely in front of Faramir, his hands on his hips, and a look on his face as if he was addressing a young hobbit who had offered him what he called 'sauce' when questioned about visits to the orchard.</p> |

My nic isnt very tolkienish either, but its a God's Avatars name in another fantasy world. I fell in love with the charactor and it seems to fit me somehow. Plus I knew nobody else would pic it!

Actually, this one is to Durelen. I was reading this one from the start, before I realized it was so old.
I am no expert in Quenya, but with a little help from the Quenya dictionary (made by the Grey Company, and downloadable at Tel'Mithrim - Language Resources I translated 'Durelen' as 'Believer of Stars' or 'Faith in Stars'. Possibly also 'Believe what You See', or 'Seeing is Believing'. Something like that. BTW, my nickname is from the elven name generator here at the downs. It doesn't have any coherent meaning, as far as I know.

Oooh. An interesting thread-revived apparently.
The origins of "Lush" are both sordid and silly, so let me just say that I have been using it as a pen-name for a few years (my writing style is lush-in the different sense of the word), and thought it would be appropriate here. For the record, my name does not neccessarily imply that I am a heavy drinker-but since I am a Russian, I inspire more vodka jokes than I would like to admit (the drink of choice in Russia is actually beer-and excellent beer it is, for those of your who are tourists). Sindalómiel is my name (Erin), according to this site's Elf name generator. I know technically you're supposed to use your full name, but Sindalómiel was prettier so I chose that.

I just put my name in the generator and got this.. it's fun.. I got a whole bunch of others as well, trying with all my middlenames, and such, but Gayahithwen is just my first and my last name(?).. So I usually uses it as my elven name.. Otherwise, when not being on any Tolkien related page, my screen name is claro, because it's a wordplay with my name, and yes, I know a little bit of spanish ^_~

I have long been a Dwarf advocate. Mostly because I identify with the species as a whole. So "Dwarin" is fairly original I thought it up myself. "Thunderhammer" came partly from the generators.

I chose Rose Cotton because I love Samwise like she did. I also thought noone else would think of useing this name. Apparently I was wrong. Member #148 has the same name.
