They take a bit of reading (theyre fairly long winded) but if you're prepared to slug it out thery're really worth it. I think that Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman have created a fascinating world which has unfortunately got out of control. But I still recommend the Twins series. A very good plot and a brainracking concept for those interested in the theories of time. However none really compares with the master Tolkien. David Gemmell is outside my experience.
