Treebeard! First of all he isn't slimy and does not hide in weird places, but mostly I chose him because I know by which means he can be defeated. I will most likely loose any fight, but I have most information about treebeard.

Be loyal - you will be released anyways when Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin come back, and you will be a hero, and you will have many friends. Whereas I doubt that the former sheriffs had many friends left after Saruman was killed.

The Prancing Pony sounds more interesting, since you have hobbits, men, and sometimes dwarves to talk to.
I'd rather have Gandalf get angry at me, since it doesn't specify who I am and what I've done. I'll assume I'm not a Nazgul or Grima Wormtongue or any other evil character. Maybe I'm Pippin, and he yells "Fool of a Took!" at me. Even if I did do something wrong, Gandalf will get angry to make sure that I don't do it again, not for any other reason.

If you were to visit one of the following Elven settlements, which one would it be?
Rivendell, Lothlorien, Grey Havens, Mirkwood, or Hollin (Eregion) when it still existed?
