Anyone ever heard of a book called Muddle Earth? Thought not. I found out about it when I was reading George Orwell's Animal Farm, where there is a mention of mangel-wurzels. I wasn't 100 per cent sure what a mangel-wurzel is, so I looked it up, and along with being sheep fodder and a member of the beet family a mangel-wurzel is the primary rate of echange among trolls in the book Muddle Earth. So, being a curious person, I looked that up, too. Turns out that someone wrote a book about a boy who gets sucked into Muddle Earth, where he meets a wizard called Randalf, and encounters many, many, Tolkien parodies. Amazing that the Tolkien Estate hasn't caught it yet, huh?
