did the movie do the books justice ?

I have a friend (and fellow Barrow-Downer) who said he didn't like the movie because the Balrog had wings. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! For the last time... Tolkien spicificly described the Balrog having wings! But I believe the movie was incredible. A maserpiece.

Rolling Stones says "two thumbs way up"

That's not really saying much because Rolling Stones gives everything two thumbs up but still. A Beautiful Mind didn't desurve Best Picture.
