What "Bubbles" was to Pre-raph paintings...
To put it kindly, I am glad he turned to prose. I don't think poetry was his strongest suit -certainly not this sort. The good stuff in my opinion are the oneshe wrote for the LOTR battles.
Do you really want me to do a full prosodic analysis to explain why I don't think it is great? Or shall I just say that endless rhyming couplets are a bit tiresome
