Ah, that would explain it. I hear you'll be getting indoor plumbing in a few years, though, so that's something. Good luck on electricity though. Coming from Nebraska and only having that started up a few weeks back, I'm sorry to say that it's harder than it looks.

Ah well, those so-called benefits of civilization aren't all they're cracked up to be. Candlelight is so much more romantic than lightbulbs. And nothing beats a fire made from real wood.
Contrary to some rumours you may have heard, however, we don't make our cutlery from flint anymore.
