I meant witch as in a sorceress/user of magic, certainly a description that Faramir and Eomer would have also agreed with.
 Anyway yes, yes, Gimli can be an elf-lover all he wants, but he better not win a competition for Dwarves.

Who is the wiser though Boro? Can you fault Gimli for falling in love with the elf? Look at the dwarf women? Maybe bearded women just didn't do it for good old Gimli. He was an ambassador of good will between all the races and healed many wounds whereas Dain, well Dain didn't do much now did he? His kingdom was handed to him.

It takes a lot of stones to declare war against Sauron. Plus, to die defending the body of a friend, so it doesn't get torn apart by Orcs! Didn't do much? If it wasn't for the valor of the Dwarves at this time, led by Dain, there may have been no home for Gimli (or the others) to return to. What is Gimli doing at this time? Chasing elf-women and abandoning his own people to go live with the Elves. What was Gimli's greatest accomplishment? Come on...killing 71 at Helm's Deep? Oh big deal, they still would have won without Gimli.
