My dad has a chofar, which is a horn. I'm not sure where he got it, but yes, you still can get horns. Also, yes you can make noises on it, you blow it sorta like a trumpet or other brass instrument. Also, a note of warning, if you get a real horn (like from an animal) be prepared for the smell! Good luck!
