You can easily make the cover of your choice (to replace or repair the one that was left out in the rain) using a color printer, some contact paper and either glue or tape. Get a picture from a Tolkien art site. Or, you can get a whole lot of covers off of Amazon, probably including the one you lost-- sounds like either the Ringwraith cover or the Gandalf cover, is the back of the book blue & black (Ringwraith), or brown & gold (Gandalf in BagEnd)?

It may seem like a lot of work, and perhaps it is, but there's nothing that can replace your Very First Copy. I wish I still had my original trilogy (I do still have my original The Hobbit.)
