I think normal people would not find the following line in a TV series particularly amusing...
Soldier (to his wife): "The big bosses like me. If I went back, I would get a promotion. I could even be a legate. Hey, how would you like it, being a legate's wife?" ...but Greenie and I laughed almost hysterically.
