If anyone joins the Barrow Downs group on facebook and gives their user name, then if they go on to try and 'friend'* anyone there will be a security assurance by checking that this seemingly random person trying to 'friend' you is on the BD group.

I quite like it, as I can see what sorts of mad music etc folks are into

*Ugh. I hate all this new terminology...
