Welcome here, Ibrīnišilpathānezel! Feel welcome here and hope to see your contributions to this forum, I'm sure you'll find it most interesting around here...

...and I must join the ranks of the people stunned by your name. Don't expect anyone's going to call you that For shortening, I'd suggest Ibrin (though on first sight, my original idea was something like "dilophosaurus" ).

Welcome Ibrina! We'll decide on the right shortening eventually if you stay around long enough. And here's hoping you do!

Silmaril

Well, I never expected anyone, even myself, to use a name that unwieldy! It just seems that, long though I have loved Tolkien's works, every time I try to join a discussion group -- even when it's just forming -- someone's always beaten me to the punch for names I would like that came from Tolkien's world. I think Ibrin is the most natural shortening of it -- although if one cares to get into Tolkienian semantics, "ibri" (V. "silver") would be the root of that part of the name. But having grown up in a large family, I sometimes answer to "hey, you" too .

Thank you all for the warm welcome.

Welcome to the forum, Ibrīnišilpathānezel . I must say that your name is probably the hardest thing I've ever tried to pronounce.

You mean you actually tried to pronounce it?

Welcome all new Downers!

Tolkien Return

Everyone here probably doesn't know me, but I know many of you. Let me proceed to explain.

Some years ago I was looking for a Tolkien forum community to join up with. I was already, as I recall, an active editor of the Tolkien Gateway wiki as I am today. I found this forum and, you might say, fell in love with it. But when I wanted to register, something curious happened. I received no email with instructions for completing my registration, and could not re-register because it was the only email I had. I nevertheless could not think, if you can believe it, to join another Tolkien forum, because I liked this one so much and because it was so different. So, for many months, I merely read all the posts. Yes, I read almost all the posts in all forums. This went on for months. I saw the coming of Macalaure and Rikae, and Voldo and so many others. I saw the Barrow-downs newspaper, the infamous "Lord of the Bible" thread, and the introduction of the new smilie on the right.

For you who have been around a while, I came about the time of Elempi's first Wizard Werewolf, and left around the time of Davem's banishment. Life on the forum was slowing down then, and time constraints were growing. I am only now coming back to the forum and finally re-registering. I can't promise a lot of activity, but at least now I can post. Some of you may recall seeing a name down at the bottom where it says "Users present" or something like that: Narfil Palurfalas. That was me.

Welcome Narcolindo, enjoy your death! I'm glad you're no longer trapped in limbo.
