Why, thank you. If your keybord handles "Manwë" or "Eärendil" it handles that as well... if not, then not.

Who? Me? In all the Finnish keybords you have ä and ö (and å) in separate keys just like a, b, c and such and you have a specific key to add ¨, so you just have to press it before typing the letter above which you want the ¨ to. So not difficult at all.
