Good ideas, Undómë.
I also wanted to offer congratulations to Folwren and everyone else who worked so hard and came up with such interesting characters for regulars at the Inn! Although I won't be playing an Inn "regular", I certainly hope to have an "outside" character who pops in now and again. Folwren - I have a couple of possibilities in mind. I will drop you a pm shortly and see which direction you prefer that I go before actually posting anything on this thread. Again, thanks to everyone for their hard work. It will be so interesting to see how the storyline develops.

Yes . . . very excited to have the Perch open for play. I have to say that Hobbit characters are some of my favorites to write.
Looking forward to seeing what Child will 'pop' in with ![]() And I'd like to chime in, in favor of what Undómë said about allowing a character's writer to speak and act for him/her. Am already thinking about my first post . . . ![]() ![]() By the way - I really like the post with all the links in it. I think it will be very helpful. And I'm supposing that everyone who puts a character description on the discussion thread will be listed there, eh? Will make it much easier to personalize posts that include other characters. Good work everyone!! -- Arry

![]() I'm looking forward to writing with you all - there are some great characters. Celuien, nice to see you as the assistant cook - the last time I had checked, Folwren still didn't know who that was going to be. |

Wow! Glad to see all of you here already! I'd prepared a PM with some stuff in it, including telling you that this thread was open, but I think it's unnecessary now.
Here's the other thing I had to address. I had one question for you all. Are all of your characters staying at the inn all the time, or do some of you go home at night? Tevildo, Firefoot, Celuien, and Undómë, if your characters stay at the inn, they will be housed somewhere inside the main building, I think. Arry, if your character stays, I think he’ll probably have a room somewhere in the barn and stables so that he can keep an eye on the stock at all time. However, it is entirely possible and not too unlikely that the characters do go home at night, so if you want that, that’s fine. I’m going to be trying to draw a map of the Inn and its grounds with the stables and barn included, so hopefully we’ll be able to see what it’s like tomorrow or so. I won't have time to do that today. Undómë and Arry, it is an excellent idea not to play with other people's characters any more than absolutely necessary. I can promise you that I won't do it (excepting that first post, Undómë, sorry), but I can't promise you that new comers won't make conversation for you. (Arry tutored me on this concept, actually. Since playing his little brother in my first RPG I've been careful about playing with anybody's character without permission. . . ![]() And thanks, Child, for the congratulations. It's very exciting and I'm looking forward to it. PM me whenever you want, and with whatever you what. -- Folwren

Primrose will also be staying at the Inn.
I suppose I should add a history for her. ![]() ~*~ HISTORY: Primrose was the middle child in a large family with five siblings to the household. Often feeling overlooked in the chaos of her family's small house in Stock, she would slip out to ramble the Marish on her own when not busy with chores or other tasks. At 20, she found herself eager to gain independence and came to the Golden Perch looking for a position. Primrose was accepted as assistant cook and she has happily worked under the head cook's guidance for the past 8 years, though Cela's eccentric habit of hiding important items when they are most needed (or so the relatively hot tempered Primrose interpreted her actions) always remained a source of occasional tension in the kitchen. ~*~ If it comes up, Primrose can explain why she doesn't live with her family by telling them that she never knows when the odd guest might want a snack in the middle of the night, and she wants to be ready for anything. ![]() Quote:

Rowan will need to stay at the Inn. Her family's little farm is about twenty miles south of Stock, in Rushey.

I did not get around to making out that map. The computer at work has somehow managed to aquire a bad case of . . . well, it's sick. I mean, it has a virus of some sort, and I can hardly work with it. I'll get it fixed hopefully soon. I'm sorry, Pio. Tomorrow, however, I may have time to draw out the map. I'll be home then, but I'll also be busy. I'll do my best.
Tomorrow is also when the Perch opens. Looking forward to it, everyone. Till then. -- Folwren
