Drawn out periods are fine... as long as the deadlines are fairly firm.
I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm in GMT-6. Or -7. I'm not sure which... DST has really wacked things out in my mind. It'll take me all summer to reset my mind, I'm sure. Anyway, somewhere in that neighbourhood.
