Those of us on BST will either have to vote early or stay up til 4am....

So the owl/seer gets just the one dream?

I think it would be quite amusing if the ducks knew the goose but not vice-versa.

Yes, sorry about that. But my schedule is all over the place and late at night is the only time I'm guarunteed to be here every day.

Oh, and there will be no double lynchings. Don't know about retractables yet. I liked them before but now I'm kind of enjoying the stability in Farael's game.

No, no, s/he dreams every night. But I played one game where the Seer (Seeker, actually) didn't get a first night dream because the game started with a Day phase. So I thought I'd make it clear that this starts with a Night phase.

Duly noted.

Ack! I just worked it out and the deadline is 6am my time!
So this means I'd have to vote insanely early and be missing from the game for a good amount of time. I'd be active from 3 pm till 10:30 pm my time and then leave my vote at around 5:45 am my time, which is when I wake up on school-days. When I'm off I'll be able to stay up late and'll probably vote around 3 am my time.

There, thats my schedule for this game. If a majority of people believe it'd be an annoyance I guess I'll drop out...

EDIT: I like retraceable votes but I agree with you, I am enjoying the stability in Farael's game. I'd say no to retraceable votes because it'd keep people from throwing away their vote.

Also, I don't think the goose or duck should know either... think of the insanity...

So it's 6 hours difference, then. That makes the deadline 4am for us Brits (and even later for the Continentals and Scandinavians, I think). Any chance of bringing it forward by a few hours, Di?

Certainly, the Goose should not know who the Ducks are because I think that makes the role more powerful than it should be. And, despite having been a Cobbler (Huan) who got killed by the shtoopid Wolves (Heroes) on the first night, I think it probably works better if the Ducks don't know the identity of the Goose either. A large part of the game (and much of its intrigue) involves trying to work out who are the gifteds and I am not sure that the Ducks should be denied this pleasure ( ) with regard to the Goose. They already have more information than anyone else as it is.

Only one Owl dream? That rather balances the game in the Ducks' favour doesn't it? Or do you mean that the Owl gets a dream on the first night, before the game starts in earnest, and then every night thereafter until caught?

Good. I am rather fearing an anti-Orc sentiment on the first day in the absence of anything else to go on ...

Personally, I'm a fan of double lynchings, but I can live without them. As a Wolf in a large village, I found the prospect of only one villager a day being lynched rather daunting. But they can seriously unbabalnce a game when there are a few known innocents hanging around. And, while I appreciate the different dynamic in a game with retractable votes, I prefer non-retractable votes on the whole. Voting is something which should not be undertaken lightly and retractabvle votes give the Ducks much more opportunity to "hide" their votes.

Re: the deadline.

I actually have two options as far as the deadline goes. Either 10 PM or 8 AM. I prefer 10 PM because I am a night person. However, since I love you all so much, and it seems I have a lot of people in my game who reside over the sea, I could, I suppose, change it to 8 AM..........

But that's the only other time that's guarunteed to work every day. [whine] My schedule is stupid, and I hate it. I work all different shifts on different days, so while one time might be good for me, say, Monday, on Tuesday it's a bad time, etc. [/whine]

So actually we can take a vote, if people want. 10 PM or 8 AM.

Sauce and Sleepy's opinions on the Goose noted, as well.

I vote 8 am. Though it won't make much of a difference to me when the deadline is because my voting hours will more or less be the same. But with 8 am I'll have more time to think about my vote.

Also, I like Double Lynchings as well though I don't mind them not being there. Also is there a rule to deal with non-active players?

Horrible, grisly death for anyone who doesn't vote two days in a row (without a really smashingly good excuse). Stern PMs and death threats to anyone who makes a habit of voting without other participation.

But, like Sauce said, I don't think that's going to be much of an issue in this village.

And I really hate to change the deadline around on people, as I know that I personally find it extremely confuddling. I'll have to wait for more people to toss in their two cents about the time, see which deadline causes the more people more trouble. Sorry.

8am CST works well for me, as it is 2pm GMT and so coincides with the end of my lunchour.

You know, reviewing the awesome list of players, it occurs to me that there's gonna be a whole lot of squawkin' goin' on in this village. Be prepared for information overload!

In light of my comment above, I somehow think that ain't gonna be much of a problem in this village ...

8 AM works horribly for me. I go to bed at 11 PM and am not online again until about 8 AM. That would give me no time to read over posts (and as Sauce has pointed out, there would be a lot of those), so I would have to vote 9 hours before the deadline, if not earlier. I often don't have time to get online at all after I get off work at 4 PM...14 hours before the deadline.

Oddly enough I face the same problem with the deadline being 10pm... Diamond, I have a suggestion, perhaps you should get a co-mod and do what I had originally planned to do for an earlier game (which never happened since I got punished >_>), write the deaths out earlier and let the co-mod post them. That way we'd be able to set a deadline that suits us all.

Hmm, I doubt it. You can please some of the people all of the time, etc....

Madame Godess-Modess must do as she sees fit. We poor players are but her tennis balls, struck and banded which way please her.
