Hello Ari, seeing as Rune has already mentioned the quiz room, I'll mention the rest, for there are many more activities here at the downs:
There are many activities you can find here at the downs, from the Chapter-by-Chapter book discussions, Scene-by-Scene movie discussions, if you want to get out of the "serious" and into the "mirth" perhaps Crazy Captions, or the Werewolf Games will suit you. Plus there's on going RPG's. Enjoy your stay.

hi
hello... I'm Ken
Stormy is an old nickname in my family and I often use it on message forums. It was my grandfather's nickname when he was in WWII. I have been a fan for probably 30 years, starting when I saw The Hobbit cartoon when I was a little kid. It really took off when I was 18 and a friend lent me the LOTR books. I read them then, again when I was 25, listened to unabridged audio books while working at my job a few years ago after The Two Towers movie came out, and I am now reading them once again and starting to check out The Silmarillion. Rather then reading it from cover to cover, [Silmarillion] I find myself skipping around and reading chapters out of order. I also like to study maps of middle earth. I think LOTR is a beautiful work of literary art, and one of the greatest of our time. Long after many pop icons of the 20th century are forgotten in time, Rings will still be celebrated like a classical overture or a Greek epic. |

Welcome, stormy - and all other newcomers! You'll find plenty of people around here who agree with your opinion of LotR as a great work of literature! Look around and see where your favourite topics are being discussed and join in. If you have any questions that aren't answered in the Forum FAQ thread (at the top of the Novices and Newcomers main forum page), please feel free to send me or one of the other moderators a PM. We'll be happy to help. Hope you enjoy yourself here!
