Fortunately, the fact that it is believed that all those things belonged to middle earth and at the same time it is believed that all those things did NOT belong to middle earth caused such a complex confusion that the whole universe decided to re-boot, starting from scratch again.

Fortunately, Captain Kirk had saved a copy of the data in the Enterprise's computer and gave it back to Eru, restoring Middle-Earth.

Unfortunately, Eru stopped trusting Captain Kirk after losing a poker game to him and destroyed the Enterprise, along with the data disk.
