There's a map of everything, including the Undying Lands, in A Tolkien Bestiary by David Day, and if my memory's correct then there's a sort of cross-section in The Book of Lost Tales Part 1. And possibly in The Shaping of Middle-earth, but I don't have that.

The Shaping of Middle-earth has the most accurate and latest complete maps of Imbar(earth). A reproduction of the map I think you're looking for can be found here:

Valinor - The Land of The Powers
(From the Encyclopedia of Arda)
'Land of the Valar'
The land founded by the Valar after Melkor's destruction of their ancient dwelling of Almaren. Originally part of the World, Valinor could be reached by ship from Middle-earth. After the rebellion of King Ar-Pharazôn of Númenor in 3319 (Second Age), Valinor and the lands of Aman were removed from the circles of the World, and could only be reached by the Elves, following the straight road that was kept open to them.

I could have come up with my own description of Valinor, but the Encyclopedia offers such a nice, concise one, that I felt it fine to use it. [img]smilies/wink.gif[/img] The events which take place in Valinor are detailed in The Silmarillion. Hope this answers your question mystra!

This may sound a little mean, but if you haven't read the Silmirilion maybe you should be talking in the Novice section. But then again i supose it is fun to explain things, especially to someone who doesn't know if you've got it right or not [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] . Numinor is where Aragorns people came from, it was an island deep in the ocian that was sunk by God after they tried to invade the land of the elves. Melkor is the Superbad guy who was Saurons master a long time ago. Almaren was where the Angels lived befor it was destroyed by Melkor, whereapon they moved to Valinor.

Mystra, I do wish that you get around to reading the Sil someday. I understand why you haven't, my sister is trying to right now, but is having a hard time getting into it. From some of your other posts it seems that you are very interested in swords. Gurthang, which I believe to be the most infamous of Tolkien's weapons, is featured in the story of Turin Turambar which is in the Sil. It would be a shame for you to miss that story as I think you'd enjoy reading about the 'Iron of Death'! [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
