I won't go into what the Valar did or didn't do, but I'll state a few of the things that I think hint at the work of the Valar.

1) The wind changing sooner than Sauron wanted it to
2) Faramir's dream
3) Frodo's prophetic dreams
4) Faramir seeing Boromir on his funeral boat
