Hello, since I am new here please anyone who has any tips for me They would be greatly appreciated. I am Ellewen, as my username says, and I have been dubbed obsessed with LoTR. And my friends can't stand it, (neither can my family come to think of it).
And if someone else has chosen the icon I'm using too. I'm sorry it's just rather symbolic for me since I take archery lessons. That's all I have to say... Thank you...

Let me be the first Ellewen to welcome you to the infamous Downs!!! Hope your stay here is enjoyable. As for hints, be wary of Gil-Galad!! I don't know why, I just have a bad feeling for him, sooooo my vote is... OOPS!! Wrong thread!! Besides, Im not even in that now. Getting off topic, AGAIN!!! Anyway, have fun Ellewen. If you have a sense of humour, check out the Middle-Earth Mirth threads. They're fun and always good for a laugh.

Welcome, Ellewen! Tips, you say? Well, let me recommend a few threads...
1. Track-by-Track: Soundtrack Discussion and Analysis -- I'm partial, though, because that's my thread

2. Tol-in-Gaurhoth -- sign up for a Werewolf game sometime!
3. Chapter-by-Chapter section -- Although I have been rather lax in participating here, there's always a lot to learn and great discussions going on.

Greetings, I am The Amok.

I have just yestarday finshed reading The Hobbit for the second time, (first time when I was about 13) and it has opened my eyes once again to the great majesty that is Tolkien's works.

I am now on to the Lord of the Rings, again (which I have read the trilogy once), and after conquering the latter I intend on reading The Similarion, which I haven't read so far, but I can't wait.

This forum is a strange place to me, what with all the strange emoticons and symbols and such, but I look forward to discussing Tolkien with all of you.

Tips and pointers welcomed.

Welcome The Amok to this wonderful site. If you look to your left and right and all over the place, you will see nothing but interesting, funny, and factual threads. I just finished reading the Sil not to long ago and I tell you know that it was AWSOME!!!! As for this forum being strange to you, it will eventually become like a second home to you. The onlly tip I have is to join the Middle-Earth Mirht threads. They're fun and always good for a laugh. Have fun on this wonderful site!

Four things... One...Gil-Galad I am Downer-Lady, who "died" quite young infact. The age of 14 really.
