Yes men elves and dwarves were created whith different powers so they would be in that sort of competition, and given that the ships of the teleri were practicly unsinkable (it says so in the Silm/UT)numenor would have a disadvatage, and if the elves hid in fangorn forest any attackers would have to be real nice to the ents and their trees, though unaided by others elves would win over men
