I've been unable to locate a Belen. are you sure that's the person?

Belen is not mentioned in the indexes for The Silmarillion, The Lord of the Rings, or Unfinished Tales, so I think that Belen must be some sort of typo or something.

I believe he is in HoME. I've found references to him on two different places, so I'm pretty sure it's not a typo.

How about this:

Belen -> Bëor -> Finrod -> Thingol -> Beleg

Belen, apparently, was a son of Bëor.
