For a title, I prefer Red Flows the Sirannon, I think. Frewell to the Elvensmiths is good, too, but that'd be my second choice.
And prologue with the forging of the rings and then skipping to the 1690's sounds best to me. (My character isn't alive at the forging of the rings, I don't think, so to go back there and hang around that time period would put me out altogether.) I've not yet read Durelin's prologue, but I'm about to.
