For cleaving orc skulls to cutting down a Mumakil's legs you don't use puny swords! Give me a nice Dwarven axe! Lots of power with two handed strokes and you can use the butt to fend off the hordes. Plus if it's made by a Dwarf you know it won't break. And if the Ents start getting uppity...
