I once had to bow out completely ungraciously of the Tolkien's Letters thread in the quiz room. I solved a few anagrams, but every time I tried to write new ones I added extra letters or left out important ones. This must have happened five or six times in two weeks. I'm very careful about anagrams now
.My first RPing experiences were pretty bad too. I believe my first character was a Rohirrim woman who carried a sword, was half Gondorian, and had fled to the Shire because she was running away from the dark memories of her haunted past. She could almost have been a character in the Entish Bow .Sophia

Oh dear...I was flipping through some old threads and reading my old posts...I was a monster!
Another embarassing BD moment was when I posted a thread asking about a certain event in a movie and why it was so, but then when I watched the movie again the reason was obvious. I was lucky, though, because nobody caught it and now, being unspecific, nobody will catch it again! Haha! Why am I so clever?...

I thought this dude was a girl, more embarrassing for him than me, though.

I think it's best never to assume the gender of a fellow Downer if they have not been specific. You'd be amazed people...
Do you ever go read your oldest posts and cringe? I'm embarrased about being so open about certain infatuations on this forum way back when I first joined. No wonder no one talked to me...

I had one post that I wrote, like, at 3 in the morning and I was really tired. It was pretty bad. I was really snappy. What was even worse was, people commented on it. (Bad comments.)

Ah embarrassment... It happens so often. My most recent public one was here, when I was overly-cocky and got put in my place mighty quickly by The Saucepan Man. It was then followed by a private semi-embarrassment when I tried to get the phantom to pity me and he told me not to expect any pity because I was cocky and deserved what I got. Haha. But since my ego got out of control and needed flicking down, I didn't even delete the post. Feel free to laugh at me.

Oh dear. There've been many embarassing moments for me during my stay at the Downs, some more memorable than others..
When I was just a wee newb, I tried to go around pointing out details and bits of info and answering questions when I really wasn't even sure of the answers. :P One such incident was when I mistakenly (and smugly) told someone that Gandalf does not touch the Ring when he throws it into the fire, but rather swats the envelope containing the Ring in. Well, the discussion was about the books and not the movie, and Estelyn graciously pointed out my error. It was embarrassing, but I learned not to answer others so brashly! Also, one of my first posts on the 'Downs was titled "SHELOB!??!" with content something like "OMG, lyke, is Shelob gunna be in TTT or NoT?!!?!" Needless to say, it wasn't exactly the best way to make a good first impression. Oi vey. The shame! In retrospect, I see that I've made many moronic posts and generally acted idiotically in some instances, but I can only learn from past embarrassments and act properly from here on out. :P

Ouch, Feanor! I just read the reply, at least you covered up for it fairly well..... I would probably have just ignored the thread.

My most embarassing moments: Werewolf VII.
![]() I am crawling under the pile of school readings I have not touched throughout the entirety of my life in Loveland, never to set foot into a Werewolf game again. Last edited by Lhunardawen; 08-07-2005 at 01:53 AM. Reason: elaborating my embarassment |

hmm. Not that I'm, like, an old timer here or anything, but so far I think it was when I found myself totally thwated by the idea that the "Warg and Warg Rider Application thread" did NOT have an application on it, and I was bound, set, and determined to complain. Fortunately I deleted it soon after.
Every single time I see that thread I get mad...Even still. It's sick. Sick, sick, sick, I tell you, and by Eru I will make a Warg and Warg Rider application out of my "Melkorian" misery.

I've recetnly had some embarassing moments. Some in the "New Members Introduce Yourself Here" thread and the "Tol-inGaurhoth" thread. They are all due mainly because of me getting lynched in WW. After I got lynched, I went insane, not that I wasn't pretty much alerady there.
I don't know, I just lost control. So here also is an apology for my recent stupidity. Hope you can forgive me.

You'll just have to live with thy frustration, Valesse. The Warg and Warg Rider Appreciation Thread is perfect. Interesting admission, though.
I had another one of those bear moments in a recent PM to Fea. It wasn't quite as bad as the first one but still. When will I learn…
