I agree about Aragorn's voice changes. Remember the Council of Elrond, and Viggo's bizarre delivery of the line "It has no other master!"?

Okay, this may be a bit smart allecky, but I've seen the film a lot and here's what I find silly. I've said a couple of them before.

When Sam says he wants to share Frodo's load, it is echoed and there's a close-up of his lips! And it sounds so condescending! No wonder Frodo got all panicky. And then, as Sam is about to hand the ring to Frodo in the tower, he seems reluctant to do so, and he looks at Frodo as though he had two heads. I wish I could've seen what he was seeing. Wouldn't it be cool if they put a weird make-up effect in there, like they did with Bilbo? They totally should've done that to explain his reluctance.

When Gollum exclaims that he wouldn't hurt a fly, he slaps his hand to his head, pulls it away, and shrieks in dismay. I think, "He's upset because he killed a fly when he did it, and he sees the little dead fly smooshed on his hand!" Of course, it was really the blood Sam caused.

When Sam finds the lembas at the bottom of the stairs, I don't think he picked them up at all. Why not, ain't crumbs better than nothing?

Then Legolas asks Gimli if he'd imagined dying side by side with a friend. I keep hoping Gimli will reply, "You know perfectly well I don't HAVE any friends!"

And also, there is absolutely no Sauraman or Wormtongue in this movie (but I imagine they'll be in the extended edition). That's odd, eh? Please don't smack me!

That's what I thought so, too, the first couple of times I saw the movie.

Ok, a thing that really makes me laugh everytime I see it, is this: At Edoras, after Pippin looked in the Palantir and everybody is in that large hall talking, suddenly there is a bird's eye view of the room and a man walks in the background from one side to the other, with a big dog on a leash. The dog looks like a greyhound. This is probably not something so out of the ordinary, but come to think of it it's pretty gratuituous - it's as if someone said: 'let's add a bit of motion to an otherwise static scene, let's create a diversion" I can imagine this scene being directed by PJ: "Alright, Ian, Viggo, and the rest, resume your places and look serious. Billy, you look guilty. Cue man with dog, you're on in two seconds! And, action!"
This scene reminds me of a similar scene in XF the Movie, as Mulder walks away from the car, right before it blows up, there is a rat that scurries from one side to the other. That would have been hilarious indeed had it been directed that way, only it wasn't; the rat just happened to walk by at that particular time, and they kept that shot in the movie.

Yes, I noticed all of those and was going to post the one about Aragorn. In his "pep talk" he says," I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me." I can`t help but laugh because of the way he says me.

Here are some more:

1. When the Gondorian soldiers are catapulting (sp?) rocks at the orcs, I believe they are throwing pieces of the city.

2. I`m not sure, but when Aragorn sees the beacon lit he has cup in his hand. I think he throws it when he runs to the Golden Hall.

3. When Gandalf and Pippin are talking in Minas Tirith ( the part where Pip says,"I didn`t think it would end this way." and Gandalf starts talking about the white shores and such.) , look at Billy Boyd`s neck. You can actually see his pulse! I just thought there was something funny about that.

4. Rather sad, but when the Nazgûl are picking up the men and dropping them, they bouce off the roof-tops.

5. Peter Jackson makes many cameo appearances through-out all 3 of the movies, but I think the funniest one, is of him riding a horse. It`s when Rohan charges at the Pellenor. Watch the riders closely and you`ll probably see him.

6. When the Battle of the Pellenor fields is just about over, Aragorn stops fighting, and when you look behind him, you can see the dead attacking one of the Mumakil.

7. When Sam gives Frodo his water, Frodo spills some. Look at the expression on Sam`s face. It almost like he`s think," Great job, Mr. Frodo! You just wasted like 5 drops! I could have drank that!"

8. When Merry and Èowyn kill the Witch King, it starts shriveling up and makes a noize like when you pull on the sides of a balloon and release the air!

Awesome thread! Here's one I found: In the crowning of Elessar (Aragorn), after Gandalf puts the crown on Aragorn and it's a long shot, you can see closely that Gandalf is wearing tennis shoes. I didn't know maiar could make shoes

*snork!* And actually, those aren't catapults; they're trebuchets.

1. When Shelob stings Frodo, they maybe keep the camera on Frodo's face a tad too long; with the expression he has like he's about to throw up, you really can't look at him for that long without laughing!

2. Any and all of Legolas's "Captain Obvious" moments.

3. *this is only for people who watch Homestar Runner* When Denethor notices that Faramir is, in fact, not dead, I always imagine him thinking: "Hm, looks like my son isn't really dead. So I'm gonna have to jump!" *snork* You must have watched the "Stunt Double" episode of Strong Bad Email to get this...

In a long shot of Faramir's troops making their last assault on Osgiliath, two of the horses switch places on the left side of the line. I thought these were Gondor's finest, and they can't handle their horses?

Whenever Sam finds the lembas I think he's going to eat some and the Popeye the Sailorman music will start playing...
