Okay, here's a hint...you can find it in the same DVD package which features the Dwarrowdelf in the movie. Finding out what the Dwarrowdelf is, especially in the context of the movie-making process, would be a big help. And no, not the miniature because there wasn't one.

Just a helping hand...
Dwarrowdelf is the dwarwen city in Moria. And I guess it's about 20 meters or so.

![]() This is probably just me, but I find it interesting that a Dwarven city would have the word "elf" in it. ![]() As to my guess, (though Thorongil's probably right) 23 meters? ![]()

Well, here's the ultimate hint...from the book cause it's easier.
"'I will now risk a little real light.' He raised his staff, and for a brief instant there was a blaze like a flash of lightning. Great shadows sprang up and fled, and for a second they saw a vast roof far above their heads upheld by many mighty pillars hewn of stone. Before them and on either side stretched a huge empty hall; its black walls, polished and smooth as glass, flashed and glittered." What the moviemakers called the Dwarrowdelf was that massively huge hall in Moria with all those pillars (and, in my opinon, one of the most emotional musical pieces on the soundtrack). Matt Aitken, Weta Digital Model Supervisor, was saying that they couldn't make a miniature of it because it was just so massive. It was, he said, 45 meters from floor to ceiling, which is staggering considering that's around 135 feet. Very cool! None of you got it exactly but Samwise was very close at 50 meters so your turn Samwise son of Hamfast.
