So, Everdawn, bring Maen to an encounter with Il Galoth, and Ferethor would bar the way just as the fighting's going to start and pull off the 'declaring his identity' magnificently.

I'd like to see Maen's reaction when Ferethor says something akin to, "In the name of High King Elessar and Gondor, I arrest Il Galoth and take him into the custody and protection of myself as the Captain of the Guards of Minas Tirith. Such was the especial order of Lord King, Maen, to arrest this renegade alive and therefore I cannot allow you to slay this traitor however deserving he may be of death. The decision of life and death of a Gondorian lies in the authority of the King Aragorn and his alone.
