hey haldir, gimli didn't actually say that to legolas, i mean in the book he didn't [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]. as to his not-so-warm welcome in lothlorien, well, a kinsman of galadriel, thingol, was murdered by the dwarves over a silmaril-bearing piece of jewelry. his death led to the downfall of his entire kingdom of doriath, the largest and most powerful in the first age, imagine that! small wonder then that galadriel imposed a blanket ban on dwarves, although your right, it does seem like too much of a generalization about all dwarves. but then again, they did make an exception with gimli, so the elves can't all be that bad!
