Finglofin is the most valiant of the Elf-kings. But on the other hand, if Luthien hadn't married Beren there'd be no Elrond, no Elros, no Dior, or Arwen, or even Aragorn, etc., etc., etc.

A persons offsprings doesnt make him/her great. Its what they themselves do. yea, luthien with beren took a silmaril from the crown of morgoth etc., but that single act cant compare to some of the other actions of the Elves in ME
