I'm sure women of power would have been equally tempted, but think about it: The Ring went from Isildur to the river, to Smeagol, to Bilbo, then Frodo, Tom Bombadil, and finally Sam. So in it's entire existence it was only touched by five people, (and one enigma). And four of those people were Hobbits!

So we really never actually get a chance to see what kind of effect it would have on most people, or what they could do with it. It's reputation amongst the wise, both male and female, apparently preceded it, and most were too afraid to even take it for a test drive. Thank goodness.

Hmmmm. I feel a topic coming on...
