The Saucepan Man has been trapped in the Barrow!
Shield

Monaghan, like all the Hobbit actors in this film, was exceptional. But I am with those who have pointed out that he is the "overlooked Hobbit" in the film. I love the development of Merry and Pippin in the book, and this was brought out extremely well in the film with Pippin's character. But I would have liked to have seen more of this with Merry. He should have had the opportunity to pledge his service to Theoden, in parallel with Pippin's oath to Denethor. I suspect that this will be in the EE, as it was filmed. I would also like to have seen more made of his involvement in the slaying of the Witch-King. His moment is so brief, it could almost be missed.<P>But he really shone in the scene where Merry and Pippin were parted. His final lines to Pippin here were heartbreaking.
