Tolkien

quote:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I liked the Lord of the Rings much better than The Narnia series. They weren't quite descriptive enough for me.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually I think it was my loving the Chronicle of Narnia when I was little that made me love LOTR when I read it.

I think it was the same way with me. I'm reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe right now, for the first time since I've read LotR. I grew up loving Narnia, and then when I got interested in writing, I actually started writing a fantasy story, and now going back and reading it, it's more in the style of Lewis. Only thing is, now I like Tolkien even more, so I'm trying to change my writing style a little bit. Since I grew up loving Narnia, it's hard to say that I like any work of fiction more, but LotR in my opinion beats the Chronicles of Narnia Anyways, if I hadn't grown up loving Narnia, I don't know if I would have been so interested in LotR.
Arwen
