Tharbad was a river-port town where the North-South road crossed the river Gwathlo, ruined and deserted at the time of the War of the Ring. It is mentioned three times in LotR and many more in UT. The best that I can tell from my hasty research is that it was a mannish city.

What's a burrahobbit got to do with my pocket, anyways?</p>
