I don't mind the Scouring, but as you also said, it woudn't fit all that well in the movies, although that's not to say that PJ coulda put it in anyway... . I simply said that it seemed to me that it was just kinda tacked on as an after-thought. I'm not trying to suggest that we should go back & re-write the books to end differently.
